Balmoral chairman and managing director, James Milne, is also chairman of Aberdeen-based charity, Friends of ANCHOR, which supports the cancer care department at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as well as funding associated research projects at the University of Aberdeen and the Robert Gordon University. The company’s financial director also sits on the Friends of ANCHOR fundraising committee.

Balmoral employs several full-time personnel for the charity, covering PR, development and fundraising, as well as providing office accommodation and support ensuring that the charity bears no administration costs.

Founded in 1997, Friends of ANCHOR has raised several millions of pounds, with every single penny going to the charity, a highly impressive performance from a relatively small local charity.
